Comprehensive Eye Exam
(English, Tiếng Việt, Español)
Your overall health is closely linked to the health of your eyes. Annual eye exams do more than correct blurry or distorted vision, eye fatigue, focusing difficulties, or eye-muscle imbalances—they can also reveal underlying ocular or systemic health conditions. In some cases, an eye exam may be the first step in identifying broader health concerns or monitoring existing ones. Early detection allows for prompt management or treatment, which is key to preventing disease progression and preserving both visual and overall health.
This video describes what we see when examining the retina (the light-sensitive tissue lining the back of the eye), macula (the part of the retina responsible for optimal central & color vision), and optic nerve (which connects the retina to the brain).
Contact Lens Evaluation & Fitting
Selecting the most appropriate contact lens technology and wearing schedule to match each patient’s visual needs and lifestyle is essential for long-term success. Dr. Pham stays current with the latest advancements and recommends options that align with each patient’s comfort and wearing preferences. In collaboration with his colleagues at Art Optical, he designs and fits specialty soft lenses and custom gas-permeable lenses. Dr. Pham particularly enjoys the clinical challenges of fitting monovision and multifocal contact lenses—not only for his presbyopic patients, but also for younger patients experiencing accommodative dysfunction, such as difficulty focusing or maintaining clear, comfortable near vision at typical reading distances (within 40 cm).
Red Eye, Medical Office Visit
Call and schedule an appointment with us if you are experiencing a pink, red, painful eye(s), or swollen eyelid(s), or have had any sudden vision loss or sudden changes to your vision.
Diabetic Eye Exam
Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness among working-age adults and often progresses without noticeable symptoms until significant vision loss has occurred. As part of standard care, an annual comprehensive eye exam is strongly recommended for individuals with diabetes—more frequently if complications are present or blood sugar is poorly controlled. Dr. Pham is committed to collaborative care and will gladly provide a concise summary of your exam findings to your primary care physician and/or endocrinologist to support coordinated disease management.
Refractive Surgery Co-Management
Dr. Pham has seen his colleagues, friends, and patients achieve outstanding results from refractive surgery. Procedures such as LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and ICL offer effective options for reducing or eliminating dependence on glasses or contact lenses. However, successful outcomes depend on having realistic expectations, stable vision, and appropriate ocular parameters. Patients should also be motivated by a genuine desire to be glasses- or contact-free for a sustained period. Dr. Pham proudly co-manages refractive surgery patients in partnership with Kraff Eye Institute (kraffeye.com) and Kovach Eye Institute (kovacheye.com).
Pediatric Eye Exam
(Ages 4 & up)
MiSight 1 Day Myopia Control
(Ages 8-12 ideal at start of treatment)
From 2015 to 2019, Dr. Pham served as a privately contracted mobile optometrist for Chicago Public Schools, examining thousands of school-aged children. During this time, he assessed critical aspects of visual development, including focusing, eye tracking, and depth perception—functions that continue to mature throughout early and middle childhood. Early detection of visual system disorders, along with timely intervention, treatment, and ongoing management, is essential to support healthy visual development and ensure optimal outcomes into adolescence and adulthood.
MiSight is a daily replacement soft contact lens that has been clinically proven and approved by the FDA to control the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children aged 8-12 at treatment initiation. ActivControl technology helps to slow the progression of their myopia (nearsightedness); children have a potential to be free from glasses. By including both a vision and treatment zone in the lens, MiSight simultaneously corrects a child’s vision, signals the eye to resist elongation, and aims to preserve future vision.*
